Biography

Ari Magg was born in Iceland, and like most people who work in the visual arts, he

is influenced by his roots. His characteristic style and vision reflect the unique

environment in the North Atlantic. He was only 19 when he started his professional

career in photography, having learned the technical skills from his father, who is also a

photographer.

 

Throughout his career, Ari has forged close collaborations with renowned agencies,

crafting unique visions for a diverse range of clients. His portfolio boasts partnerships

with industry giants such as Motorola, General Electric, Campbell’s, Vodafone, and William

Grant and Sons, Iceland Telecom, The National Bank of Iceland, 66° North and Icelandair.

His work has also graced the pages of esteemed international publications, including

Monocle, Time Magazine, Wallpaper, I-D Magazine, The Sunday Times and Observer

Magazine.

 

Ari has given lectures and seminars in Sweden and Russia and held private exhibitions in

Washington, D.C., St. Petersburg, Russia, and Reykjavík.

 

Ari’s work has been acknowledged with many awards for outstanding achievement in

photography, receiving the European EPICA awards in 2005 and 2006 for this work, for

66° North, among other prestigious awards.
